Brother Group’s Environmental Strategy

Carrying out activities to achieve a sustainable society under the slogan of "Brother Earth"

In accordance with the Brother Group Global Charter (Global Charter) established in 1999, the Brother Group promises to help society achieve sustainable development, by actively and continuously considering the environmental impact of all aspects of its operations, to achieve growth for the group. The Brother Group also introduced the Brother Group Environmental Policy (Environmental Policy) to become a corporate group that delivers eco-conscious products in which the environment is considered throughout the product life cycle, and to encourage every employee worldwide to become involved in conserving the global environment.

To boost efforts under the Global Charter and the Environmental Policy, the Brother Group created the "Brother Earth" logo and slogan which symbolises the group's environmental activities with a unified message of "Working with you for a better environment."

Under the Brother Earth slogan, every employee will increasingly focus on eco-conscious efforts in all our business activities to help build a sustainable society.

Brother Group's environmental policy and its application in environmental activities

The Brother Group Environmental Policy is based on the Brother Group Global Charter and summarises the specific concepts of environmental activities. As it constitutes a single unified environmental policy for the entire group, Brother is globally developing activities to protect the environment and aiming to deliver new value not only via product performance and quality but also environmental considerations.

Basic philosophy

The Brother Group shall positively and continuously act to decrease the environmental impact of all aspects of our business operations so that society can achieve sustainable development.

Basic environmental policy

Concern for the environment shall be the cornerstone of all operations. Safety and environmental impact shall be prime considerations at every stage of a product's life cycle, from design, development, manufacturing, customer usage, and disposal, to reuse and recycling.
