Frequently asked questions

You may notice that on our leaflet (contained within the toner box) or on the downloadable free-post label, we provide you with a customs declaration form. This is only relevant for UK, Switzerland and Norway. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@brother.lv.
Unfortunately, we do not accept used printer cartridges that are not genuine Brother consumables. We recommend you return your non Brother consumables to their original manufacturer. Due to unknown composition of third party printer cartridges, we can only remanufacture genuine Brother consumables. However, if we do receive any non genuine Brother consumables they will of course be recycled responsibly.
We have our own dedicated recycling schemes to recycle and remanufacture your empty Brother toner cartridges. Returning them back to Brother means that we can make sure your printer cartridges are being treated responsibly and we can guarantee nothing ends up in landfill.
Depending on the type of labelling product you have, you can choose the service most convenient for you on our recycling webpage.
Some consumables you can recycle at home, and for others, we offer free-post return solutions so that we can ensure they are being treated responsibly and guarantee that nothing ends up in landfill. Check out our TZe tape cassettes recycling and DK label rolls recycling for more information.
You can use the same free returns label as for toner cartridges, which you can download from our website. Just attach the label to the box (use the box and packaging which your new drum came in), and take it to the post office.
Brother machines are collected and recycled in accordance with European legislation, the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE). There are a number of ways you can recycle your old printer, from local recycling centres, returning it to the retailer you bought it from, and even through household recycling collection schemes. Go to printer recycling page for more information.
Your toner cartridge will make its way back to one of our ‘zero waste to landfill’ accredited European recycling facilities (situated in North Wales and Slovakia) where it will be recycled or remanufactured (the reuse of all parts to make new products). Anything that cannot be remanufactured is recycled, contributing to a sustainable circular economy. Durable components from your returned toner cartridge are recovered and utilized within a new toner cartridge to conserve resources, reduce the environmental impact and save CO2.
We are Cool Earth's longest serving commercial partner having started our relationship back in 2009. As part of this we support their Amazon rainforest project. Visit our profile at coolearth.org to see how, in return for recycling your ink and toner cartridges, we're sponsoring the protection of the Peruvian rainforest. Cool Earth provides around-the-clock protection for the rainforest of the Ashaninka community to keep illegal loggers at bay, allowing them to responsibly harvest produce such as nuts, coffee, and cocoa.
No, a waste transfer note is only applicable for individual shipments of over 20KG.
