Brother launches dedicated network infrastructure and cable identification label printing kit

Global printer manufacturer Brother is proud to unveil the PT-E550WNIVP label printer – a new product dedicated to network infrastructure and cable identification. A set of new self-laminating tapes have also been introduced to Brother’s labelling range to complement the launch.

The new kit contains everything needed to successfully complete all network identification including patch panels, patch cables, optical fibre, faceplates, racks and equipment. Utilising Brother’s specialist Pro Tape range that includes strong adhesive, flexible ID, self-laminating and tamper evident security labels, the PT-E550WNIVP creates durable, long-lasting labels that help users comply with ANSI TIA-606-C or ISO/IEC 14763-2 identification standards - which is the industry standard label type used to identify datacom cables.

Henning Elkjær, Nordic Marketing Director & Sales Director, Denmark, at Brother Nordic A/S, commented on the new release; “this Wi-Fi enabled and easy to use label printer is the perfect tool for anyone working within network infrastructure. It is a one stop shop for all the various applications needed. The Brother PT-E550WNIVP label printer is quick, reliable and durable, and the advanced cutter means that labels are printed in a long strip keeping them in the correct numbered sequence and are easy to peel off - making easy work of accurate labelling.

“We are also extremely excited about our new self-laminating tapes. Like many of our other tapes, our self-laminating tapes have an additional durable laminate applied over the text at the time of printing. Unlike competitor labels, this Brother innovation allows network infrastructure engineers to use a 24mm width label on the thicker CAT6A cables, whilst ensuring your text is completely protected against damage from abrasion.”

The PT-E550WNIVP is compatible with Windows and Mac, and smartphones via Brother’s iLink&Label app. This enables users to quickly connect to their Fluke Networks Linkware™ Live projects in the cloud and transfer the required cable IDs to the printer for fast, accurate labelling of cables. The app is a product of Brother’s partnership with Fluke Networks’ LinkWare™ Live Affiliates Programme and allows a seamless integration of the system with Brother’s PT-E550WNIVP label printer.

Henning Elkjær added; “this compatibility ensures that users can easily print multiple labels efficiently, helping to avoid incorrectly identified cables caused by mistakes often made when entering each cable ID manually.”

“The PT-E550WNIVP label printer can also connect to Brother’s Mobile Cable Label Tool app, enabling users to create and print labels from their smartphone anytime and anywhere.”

The package, now on sale includes the PT-E550WNIVP label printer, one each of 24mm black on white self-laminating and 9mm black on white strong adhesive tape cassettes, along with an AC adapter and rechargeable battery. All contained in a carry case.
