Brother products receive international design awards

Again, Brother stood out at the international iF Design Awards. Three Brother printers and an entire series of printers have been selected among more than 5,400 candidates to receive one of this year’s iF Design Awards.

The international iF Design Award is said to be one of the finest to achieve when launching new it and office products. The German-based award, that is distributed at the annual CeBIT exhibition in Hannover, is awarded by a panel of very critical judges from various countries.

An attractive appearance is just one of many criteria that has to be met in order to be taken into consideration for an iF Design Award – and perhaps later for a gold or silver medal. Other criteria are f. instance user-friendliness and eco-friendliness.

This year the iF Design Awards committee received 6,401 products from 54 countries for evaluation. Four Brother products managed to get through the eye of the needle: Two laser printers, an all-in-one printer and an entire series of printers and all-in-ones.

It seems that Brother almost ”subscribe” to iF Design Awards and during the years have received a grand total of 66 of the coveted awards – including those received this year. The first iF Design Award Brother got back in 1982, for an alphanumeric typewriter.

”Today, where many products are able to do pretty much the same things, it is important to differentiate from the competition. A really good way to make one’s mark is by making the best designs. Especially in a country such as Denmark, where design and good styling is part of our culture,” explains Henning Elkjær, Nordic Marketing Director & Sales Director (Denmark), Brother Nordic A/S.

Henning Elkjær adds, that Brother always try to develop products where elements such as beautiful design, user-friendliness, quality, eco-friendliness, reliability and good price all come together.

The Brother printers that iF Design Awards selected this year are:

• Brother MFC-L9570CDW al-in-one colour laser printer.
• Brother HL-L9310CDW colour laser printer.
• Brother MFC-J6935DW Business Smart all-in-one colour inkjet printer.
• The entire Brothers series of HL-, DCP- and MFC-L8000 laser printers and all-in-one printers.

According to the iF Design Award committee they all excel in looks, quality, performance, innovation, user interface, security and eco-friendliness in production as well as in each product.

Almost all Brother products are eco labeled with the Nordic Swan to signal that they can be recycled, have low power consumption and are eco-friendly when in daily use.

Recently Brother MFC-L9570CDW all-in-one colour laser printer scored many points with the independent test laboratories Keypoint Intelligence - Buyers Lab, that acknowledged it with a Winter 2018 Pick Award. The strict test people that put the printer through 80,000 printouts accentuated the high quality when printing images, the unrivalled reliability and an exceptionally high print speed.
